Your child learns English. Without losing Spanish.

Bilingual kindergarten and after-school support for Spanish-speaking children. Malu taught English as a second language for twenty-five years in Peru; now she walks Utah families through the move to full-day school — and into English.

What families are living

Sound familiar?

The full day is long

Kindergarten went from half day to full day. That's nearly seven straight hours in a language your child is only beginning to understand.

They come home quiet

No questions, no participation, nothing to say about school. They fall behind before anyone notices in time.

You're afraid they'll lose Spanish

Many children stop answering in Spanish within months. Learning English shouldn't cost your child their language — or their conversations with family.

How we help

A bridge, not a leap

Every child arrives somewhere different. We start where they are and move at their pace, always in both languages.

Bilingual kindergarten

A small group where your child learns in Spanish while English arrives little by little — no fear, no rushing.

English step by step (ESL)

A method built for five- and six-year-olds: play, songs, routine, and a great deal of repetition. No memorized translation.

One-on-one tutoring

Already enrolled in public school? We support your child in the afternoons, one-on-one or in groups of two or three.

Spanish stays

We keep reading, counting, and writing in Spanish. A child with a strong first language learns the second one better.

Who teaches

Meet Malu

Malu was born and raised in Peru, where she spent twenty-five years teaching English as a second language to Spanish-speaking students.

She knows exactly where they get stuck: the sounds that don't exist in Spanish, the word order, the fear of being wrong out loud in front of everyone. And she knows how to get through that wall without the child shutting down.

She lives in Utah now, working with families making the same journey she made: arrive, understand, and stay — without leaving their own behind.

Why it matters

A good start lasts for years

What happens in kindergarten shapes how your child sees themselves as a student. Our job is that they see themselves as capable.

Confidence first

A child willing to speak learns far faster than one afraid of being wrong. That's always where we start.

Two languages, no trade

Being bilingual isn't a delay, it's an advantage. Your child doesn't have to swap Spanish for English.

Family included

We tell you what they're learning and how to support it at home, in Spanish. No homework you can't read.

Paying for it

The Utah Fits All Scholarship

Utah awards an annual per-student scholarship to families educating their children outside public school. It can cover a good portion of a program like ours.

$4,000

per student, per school year

  • Spent on approved programs

It covers classes, materials, and educational programs that meet the program's requirements.

  • It's for families leaving public school

Accepting the scholarship means unenrolling your child from public school. If they stay at their school, our afternoon tutoring is paid directly.

  • We help you apply

In Spanish, step by step. We don't decide who receives the scholarship, but we walk you through the process.

Utah Fits All is a State of Utah program, independent of Con Malu. It is currently under review by the Utah Supreme Court, and its requirements, amounts, and availability may change. Always confirm the details on the program's official page before making a decision.

Frequently asked

Before you ask

What ages do you serve?

We're starting with kindergarten: five- and six-year-olds. Our tutoring is also open to first and second grade.

Are classes in Spanish or English?

Both. Early on most of it is in Spanish so your child understands and feels safe; English grows week by week until it becomes the main language of the classroom.

Do I have to take my child out of public school?

Only if you want to use the Utah Fits All Scholarship, which requires unenrolling from public school. If you'd rather they stay at their school, you can take our afternoon tutoring and pay directly.

How much does it cost?

We're still setting pricing. People on the waitlist will hear first and will get special terms when we open.

Where are you located?

In Utah. We'll confirm the exact address and schedule when enrollment opens.

When do you start?

We're working on it. Join the list and we'll email you as soon as we have a date. No spam.
